Homework Arrangements

Broadly speaking we believe that properly designed homework can play a valuable part in children's education. It does, however, require the support of parents for its success.

Over the seven primary years your child will encounter various types of homework. At the core of our policy is an aim to facilitate literacy and numeracy skills and apply them. In all age groups children are expected to read regularly with parents' involvement ensuring the reading activities are done and also sharing the book with the child. Sharing means talking about the book. This type of homework is vital in the early years and forms the basis of much homework in the Infant classes.

As children grow older they will encounter more sophisticated homework including mathematics, research work and creative work.
